Back from Vacation!

We're back from our Alaskan Cruise! We had a BLAST! Thank you all for your patience while we were away! I hope you made use of the free shipping special while we were gone.

Here is a little highlight of my trip:
-Saw two huge glaciers (BREATHLESS VIEW)
-Dog sledding in the mud, got covered it mud, and had SO MUCH FUN (The snow one was way to pricey, but I loved it so much I might have to go in the snow next time!)
-Slept more than 8 hours a day + 1-2 hour naps (finally caught up!)
-Relaxed in the sauna
-Ate my heart out - breakfast, lunch, and 4 course dinners (gained 2 lbs in a week)
-Had Seattle's Best Coffee in Seattle (Finally something other than Starbucks!)
-Smelled the flowers at Butchard Garden in Victoria, Canada
-Realized my closet had a horrible selection of warm clothing (I'm in Cali!)

Here are some pictures:
Views from the ship!

I missed my lil mutt

Back from Hawaii!

I'm back from Hawaii...unfortunately. I wish I was still there. Oahu was awesome! Thanks for all the ladies that helped me plan my trip. I didn't get that many good pictures =(.

Here are a couple pictures. Please excuse the bad quality. We took all these with our point and shoot underwater camera.

Swam with sharks, I was in a cage of course. But WOW there were so many sharks! I could basically touch them..but I wasn't stupid enough to stick my hand out.

My fav thing to do - Pig out at the shrimp trucks!

Snorkeling at Hanauma bay. Look at this big zebra fish hehe

Horseback riding along the beach.

We hung out with some friends and locals. It turns out that two of our friends were in Hawaii the same time. We met the owner of 88 tees that weekend. She has awesome tees by the way! Very funky and "harajuku". Check it out here. She was taking out this Japanese popstar/actor named ka-kun so we hung out and had a couple drinks with them (Josh and I are in the back..I'm in the pink dress). Ka-kun kept insisting that Josh looked like Tom Cruise. I saw no resemblance LOL.

Other things I did: hiked Manoa Falls, ate lots of shave ice, sun bathed at the beach.

One HORRIBLE thing did happy on my trip however. We rented a Jeep wrangler convertible. Before hiking Mauna falls, I LOCKED my iphone inside of the glove compartment. I guess it is really easy to break into because when I came back, my phone was gone! When we went swimming with the sharks, we purchased a DVD of ourselves...those punks stole our DVD!!! I mean, I could have understood the iphone, but a dvd? That video meant a lot to us because it was irreplaceable. Well, I'm over it now though. I still had fun the rest of the trip!

chrissie- I did a lot of the things from the list you gave me! I had a plate lunch at Rainbow drive, Napples at Zipps, Ramen, had shave ice (3x). I missed out on a couple things but I hope to get to them next time I go. I went to Kailua but missed out on Lanikai juice =\. I did go to Boots and Kimmi and had the best macadamian pancakes. yummmy!
jeni - I didn't get to visit Cinnamon Girl, hopefully next time!
ali - I didn't get a chance to visit Fighting Eel this time either =(
r+v - Got my giovannis! We actually went out on a shrimp eating marathon! I tried about 4 of them LOL. Giovanni's still got my vote for the best GARLIC shrimp!

Vacation is over =(. Time to plan the next vacation. Paris? Italy?

An Update

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! I went to Northern California to visit my inlaws and had a blast!

My Victoria Secret swimsuit came in today and I'm so bummed because it doesn't fit well with my body shape at all. I was under the impression that it was a marigold yellow, but it turned out to be regular bright yellow! Luckily, I dropped by Old Navy and found one for only $26.90. It is also a one piece suit but with thin brown zebra stripes. It is plunged at the bust with a brass ring. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the swimsuit on their website to show you!

On another note, Thanks for everyone who participated in our Giveaway with Stephanie Williams! Congrats Ashlee!

Help me find the perfect bathing suit!

The hubby and I will be heading off to Hawaii in less than two weeks! I've never been to Hawaii! It is going to be a short vacation, just 4 1/2 days. I'm sure I'll be enjoying every single minute of it! I'm planning to go to a luau, swim with sharks (in a cage of course), snorkel, get a tan, drink fresh coconuts, relax, and eat my heart out. Josh and I love food =D. This is what I've been craving for: Giovanni's Shrimp Truck.

Anyhow, I am on a quest to find a cute one piece bathing suit. I already have bikinis, but I gained a little weight in the mid section so I'd feel more comfortable in a one piece. Plus I've always wanted a more conservative bathing suit just in case.

I've been looking at Urban outfitters, Anthropologie, and Victoria secret. Are there any other good sites/store?

Based on the ones that I've see on those sites, I've narrowed it down to two. Help! Which one should I get??

Ruche Visits NY in 13 days!!

I live in sunny Southern California where the sun shines pretty much all year round. I have trench coats, thick scarves, and fuzzy warm boots that have been dying to get worn. California rarely gets cold enough! But.... in 13 days, Josh (hubby) and I are heading to New York City for a short 4 day trip! This is our first time to NYC and I haven't been this excited over a vacation in so long.

I CANNOT WAIT to be

-in the middle of the hustle bustle city life
-under the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller center
-ice skating in the snow
-looking up at the Statue of Liberty
-sitting on a beach in the middle of Central Park
-window shopping the pretty Christmas displays
-playing Sartorialist
-eating at all the yummy restaurants
-scrounging for vintage goods at the SOHO vintage shops
-freezing my butt off
-shopping shopping shopping (don't worry, I will be shopping for you too)
-the list goes on and on...

I am currently planning my trip, looking for must see places and must eat at restaurants. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

I am also working on my outfits to bring with me. Ruche needs to go to NY in style! I'll be dressing up Josh as well haha. Hopefully I can post up pictures of my outfits each day. But somehow, I'm guessing I'll be covered up in a trench coat. Is it too cold to wear skirts with thick sweater leggings?

I will definitely be taking these things with me!

A Strange Day

Today I feel like writing a more personal post.

Those of you who have been following me for a while (since Fusion Boutique) may have known that I got married a lil more than 2 years ago. Our two year anniversary was in June =). It has finally occurred to me that it was about time I changed my last name. I've been putting it off for a while, not because I didn't want to change my name (okay..maybe that is one of the reasons hehe jk), but honestly, it just seemed like such a big hassle. Waiting in line at the Social security, dmv, bank, insurance UGGHhhh.....Here is link in case anyone is curious: http://weddings.about.com/od/getorganized/a/changeyournam.htm.

Anyhow, this morning I finally decided to get it done. After 2 hours of waiting in line, I finished off the first step (Social Security). I came in expecting to be able to move my last name to be my new middle name; I left with just a first name and my husband's last name. I was SOOOOOOO bummed that they didn't let me move my last name to be my middle name =(. Apparently, you have to get it done through court and it is a whole long process.

So today...I must say, was a strange day. After only 27 years, I had to depart with my last name. I'm sure those of you who went through this felt the same way at first. I don't know exactly how to explain the feeling, it is just...strange. I'm sure I'll eventually get over it, right?

On a happier note, its FRIDAY!! Whoo HOOo!
